The Tale of a First-Time Home Buyer
Aislienn is a beautiful, energetic single woman who was prompted by the urging of her co-workers and her family to buy her first home. She was getting advice from many sources and she didn't know which way to turn, but she did agree it was time to take the plunge. She was convinced she wanted a small, REO, fixer upper.
We saw some pretty awful places (some we wouldn't even get out of the car to look inside), but Aislienn was determined to find something. So, I made a deal with her - we'll look at what you want, but you have to look at what I want for you. Aislienn agreed to look at some condos which were standard sales, and not fixers. We found a new condo that she loved but we decided to keep looking. No matter what else we looked at, Aislienn was convinced the new condo was her favorite. As you can see from the pictures she found a beautiful home. It has granite counters, cherry cabinets, stainless appliances and an inside laundry all brand new in a security building with secured parking. I'm happy to say she now owns her favorite....
Aislienn and I met the other evening to finalize some paperwork. She gave me a hug and again said "thank you, I'm so glad I didn't get a fixer upper, I love my place". That's music to my ears. I want my clients to be happy with their decision but more importantly I just helped somebody fulfill the dream of home ownership.
Aislienn will be able to take advantage of the $8,000 first time homebuyers tax credit and I applied for a California Association of Realtors Mortgage Protection insurance policy for her, which doesn't cost her anything. We had such a good time finding this place, I can't wait to see what the future holds for her.
What does the future hold for you?
